THE BAYS RAYS Unveil Video for Track ‘Satisfaction’
The band announces the release of their debut EP.
Following their previous single, Aphelion, the Kent trio returns with the unique new cut, taken from their forthcoming debut EP, out later this month.
“Are you ready for some rock & roll?” we hear from a TV presenter before The Bay Rays grace the stage in their latest music video. The events that follow next surely showcase quite an unusual turn.
Wrapped up in sharp guitars and edgy vocal harmonies with a sing-along chorus, new offering masterfully serves another illusion. A sardonic tone of the clip balances the heaviness of Satisfaction whilst the aesthetics capture our attention completely. The band’s clear sense of humour helps to unravel the deeper meaning hidden behind the verses.
Vocalist Harry Nicoll says of the track:
‘Satisfaction’ is about wanting to escape your social anxieties. You break down barriers, but then you don’t like the person you’re becoming.
The accompanying video in the form of black and white visuals encompasses the fun and animated side of the band’s persona. Confident in their beliefs, The Bay Rays utterly transform into 60s popstars and perform to a fully dedicated audience. All is delivered with an ironic twist, as they do.
Bassist Anthus Davis explains:
With the video we wanted to portray this in a light hearted way, through the restrictions and expectations of behaviour in a TV show performance, whilst drawing inspiration from some of our favourite music videos.
The Bay Rays are also set to play their debut London headline show at Sebright Arms on March 29th, which is also a release date of their debut EP out on their own label imprint, East Wing Records.
After that, it looks like the band is going to experience a busy festival season, including appearances at Live At Leeds, The Great Escape, City Sound Project and Hit the North.
