PLAZA Release Daunting New Single ‘Deep In My Head’
The Hartlepool quartet unveils Deep In My Head their first single of their forthcoming debut EP PLAZA.
PLAZA have quickly stepped up as one to watch. Since their debut single Totem last year, they have stood of with their relatable songwriting and energetic live shows. Their fastidious melodies, haunting structure, bold compositions and emotive guitar work shine clearer than ever on their most recent offering Deep In My Head.
Brad Lennard’s capturing vocals echo through the soundscape, clashing up against the reverb soaked guitar work in a mesmerising concoction of feelings and textures. The haunting lyricism shines through with lines like “I wanna be lost and old, don’t wanna be found at all”. It’s a teasing darkness in the words that is clearly mirrored in the gloomier sonics of the tune.
Lennard states that:
The essence of ‘Deep In My Head’ is around mental health and how it can manipulate you into a completely different person to what you once were. It’s about being lost in your own mind, but alongside the unease and anxieties of it all, feeling that you’re set up in the right place.
