THE DRUMS Share Video for ‘Blood Under My Belt’

Announce Autumn UK & EU tour dates.

Blood Under My Belt is the first single taken from The Drums‘ forthcoming fourth studio album, Abysmal Thoughts, out in June.

Released last month, Blood Under My Belt is a blissful tune filled with sun-drenched guitars and straightforward lyrical content. The heartbreak that is brought along makes the track quintessential for The Drums‘ repertoire. It’s the kind of heartbreak we’re happy to endure once more. With Jonny Pierce‘s upbeat yelp aligning with the euphoric melody, it is clear that Abysmal Thoughts will be ideal to soundtrack the upcoming summery days.

As the art direction of the video landed in Jonny’s hands, it turned out the only way it could. The result is the aesthetically pleasing clip of colourful sequences with a theme of personal fetishes. He explains:

I hate making music videos. But, alas, sometimes you need to feed the beast, and I decided to make a music video that explores some visual fetishes of mine – mainly sportswear and a new exploration of colors that I’ve long-loved but hadn’t been a part of the band’s aesthetic until now. I love this new era of The Drums because I’m allowed to express exactly what I want and take it all the way.

Abysmal Thoughts due out on June 16th via Anti Records.

The Drums will be heading on UK &EU tour to support the release. Catch them at the following dates:
