MUSKETS Reveal Music Video for ‘Umbilical’
UK rock band Muskets have shared visuals for Umbilical, taken from their recently released debut album Chew.
Muskets have a new video for their latest track Umbilical and you can almost smell the sloppy beers and feel your feet getting stuck to the floor.
You get close and personal with the guys as they perform their manic and gritty track. With a dose of nostalgia, the clip harnesses the energy and persona of the tune. Balancing chaotic guitars and thriving drums, it cuts and dives all over the place and you can barely keep up. But it just works. It isn’t pretentious, it just shows the band doing their thing.
Muskets say of the track:
I wrote this song on an acoustic guitar in the early hours of the morning when I used to struggle with sleeping but we finished it collectively in a studio – messing around dynamics and structure to make a more sonically aggressive sound. I guess the lyrical content is about addiction, temptation and dependency and the process of disassociating yourself from reality. We created this video with the same director we’ve been working with through out our record campaign, Chris Wade (Dogbrain video’s) in the same Brighton studio we finalised the song in. It’s a pretty simple concept using a projector and a shit load of amps – we set out to recreate a similar aesthetic to the videos that bands we were inspired by growing up would release.
Muskets will perform album parties at Green Door Store in Brighton on January 13th and at Birthdays (Dalston) in London on January 15th.
