GIG GOER MAGAZINE
We are delighted to announce that GIG GOER Issue 1 is ready to hit the shelves.
Entering into 2018 with new goals and dreams, we are excited to finally reveal what we’ve been working on for the last few months, which is brand new GIG GOER Magazine.
Gracing the cover of GIG GOER issue one are legendary alternative rockers WEEZER. Fresh off the release of their incredible eleventh album, Pacific Daydream. With no signs of stopping yet, we catch up with Rivers Cuomo and the rest of the band to discuss their future plans, the making of their latest album, and life on the road as WEEZER.
Elsewhere in the issue, we sit down with Blaenavon, just hours before their biggest headline show yet, at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Discussing their growth as a band, their early songs and hidden recordings. We also travel over to Berlin where we meet the mysterious Max Gruber AKA Drangsal, and get a closer look at Hippo Campus‘ fantastic debut album, landmark, as they gear up for a sold-out show at Camden’s KOKO.
Aussie metalcore outfit Northlane are also in the mag, delving into their cathartic album Mesmer, some bizarre tour situations and their love for 90’s pop music. Ramping up to release their long-awaited debut, Isle of Wight’s very own DEAD! take us through their recording process, taking that extra 20 seconds and some rather anti-climactic rockstar moments.
We head on the road with Milk Teeth as they hit the road alongside Good Charlotte in our photographic series ‘Disposable Diaries’. With the aim of capturing some of the more intimate moments on tour, we sent them off with a few disposable cameras and the task of documenting their tour.
Rounding off 2017 we will also be looking at some of the albums that have made the last 12 months so great. From pop punk favourites The Maine and Knuckle Puck, to The xx’s incredible return and Lorde’s stunning sophomore record, Melodrama, rounding the hundreds of albums released this year to just a few has been a struggle, yet we try our best as we explore our ‘Albums Of The Year’.
As we head to print for our debut issue we feel that we have assembled some of the best voices, both new and old, currently in the music industry, and we can’t wait to share GIG GOER Issue 1 with the world!
