ALASKALASKA Unveil New Single ‘Meateater’
London’s ALASKALASKA have released trippy new tune Meateater.
Already a firm live favourite, Meateater is a thrilling new cut form the London based six-piece ALASKALASKA.
Swinging from downbeat to energetic in an instant, ALASKALASKA effortlessly captivate the listeners with their dynamic song compositions, and Meateater is no different. Thriving on woozy guitars and frontwoman Lucinda John-Duarte’s magnetic vocals, the tune is a fascinating portrayal of a fight with conformity and stereotypes. Adding in a hint of sheer frustration, and let’s not forget about that superb sax solo, the band creates something truly unique and relatable on their latest single.
According to Lucinda, Meateater was born of exasperation:
I was thinking about how frustrating it is to be categorised or stereotyped. We’re always in competition with each other or ourselves, trying to sell ourselves like meat and hiding parts of our being in the process.
In the coming weeks the band will be headlining Corsica Studios, supporting Porches at Village Underground and also Nilüfer Yanya on a UK tour, as well as performing at a string of festivals including Liverpool Sound City, Live At Leeds and The Great Escape.
