Live: DANIEL DOCHERTY // O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London
On Tuesday evening, Daniel Docherty, a multi-talented Scottish singer/songwriter performed his biggest London show to date.
Currently on tour with Calum Scott, the spirited and enthusiastic musician left an indelible mark on the crowd at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Showcasing a mix of songs such as Colours and Garden in the Snow from his debut EP, and Hold Me, his current single from his sophomore offering, Life Is What We Make Of It, which was released in February this year, we witnessed a passionate and commanding performance.
Dressed simply in black with his acoustic guitar in hand, Daniel Docherty looked at ease and embraced the London crowd with an endearing witticism in his thick Glaswegian accent: “You may have noticed I’m not from around here. I’ll try and be as understandable as possible.”
Humble with his words but inspiring with his music, Docherty enthralled the crowd with his mesmerising fingerpicking and great vocal delivery. Having honed his skills playing in public while busking in the streets of his home city, Docherty deserves credit as a great instrumentalist, using both hands to tap and play on the neck of the guitar. A true virtuoso.
On tour with Calum Scott across various dates in Europe until end of May, he’s not to be missed!
