HELLIONS Reveal Video for ‘Smile’
The Australian quartet have unveiled the visuals for Smile and perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s every bit as infectious as the track.
When Hellions wrote of their new music video:
Indeterminable entertainment:
a dozen poses and a soapbox
cheap and sedative stimulation
coming at an almighty cost
We weren’t entirely sure what to expect but the video turns out to be a fantastically uplifting clip, as the band spread smiles and their infectious energy.
Beginning with a blue haze settling over the band and a group of disconnected individuals, the group is not so separate at the end of the video as they all share smiles and rock out together. It’s well worth a watch, as it tackles the disconnectedness faced by people nowadays as a result of technology, and fixes it in its own twist.
Drummer Anthony Caruso and guitarist Matt Gravolin says about the video:
Our Director, Aimee-Lee X. Curran, her crew and our cast really helped bring those words and the meaning behind the song to life. It was a pleasure to create and we are ecstatic with the result. The little details in our hero, Danica Burch, and our ballroom casts performances were paramount in bringing this all together. Thank you to everyone involved for such a pleasant and professional experience. We hope Hellions fans enjoy the video for Smile as much as we all enjoyed making it!
Hellions are set to release their long-awaited fourth album Rue on October 19th via UNFD.
