PREMIERE // CLUB PARADISE Unveil Music Video for ‘Kirby Keger’
Newcastle’s Club Paradise take you back in time with their latest single Kirby Keger.
Channelling strong retro aesthetic vibes, Club Paradise share an absorbing new clip for their latest offering, Kirby Keger.
Inspired by the movie St Elmo’s Fire, the track is a one-way ticket to the vibrant era of the 80’s, with its shimmering melodies and emotionally charged lyricism. Incorporating their old school influences into the modern soundscapes, Club Paradise easily blend sparkling synths, sleek guitar licks and powerhouse vocals, adding a tinge of youthful charm and hopeless romanticising to it. Complementing the sentimental tone of the track perfectly, the mosaic video is sure to spark a sense of nostalgia in you with its modular retro gaming composition. Watch it below.
Speaking on the track the band states:
Kirby is the full picture, its wonder turns into drama and its highs into lows, from running away from real life into a windswept crush to the apparent circumstances of staying up all night needing to escape. It resonates. So when anyone asks why you do what you do, Kirby is our way of saying fuck it, you did it for you and that’s not selfish – that’s OK.
The lead singer/guitarist Ryan Young explains further:
We wanted to tie the audio aesthetic to a visual and with the inspiration being drawn from St. Elmo’s Fire and the track having an 80’s feel, we thought we’d go down a modular retro gaming/digital route. We wanted something cool and a little bit different, although the track has a deeper meaning. I think it’s the most fun we’ve ever had and that was a key point to our video, as it was with our last one for ‘Sugar’ too.
