FONTAINES D.C. Share Video for Song ‘Liberty Belle’
The Irish band has been topping the charts with their debut album Dogrel and now they have released their fifth music video in a successful year, covering their track Liberty Belle.
Fontaines D.C. are part of a batch of talented Irish rock bands, also including The Murder Capital, Fangclub, and Otherkin, and don’t shy away from purely Irish subjects, tackling the changing of Dublin in the past decade. Dogrel, and especially Liberty Belle, is no different and it’s no surprise that the ‘D.C.’ in Fontaines’ name stands for Dublin City. As singer Grian Chatten says of the track:
‘Liberty Belle’ is a lament to the death of old Dublin, written by people who couldn’t afford the new one.
The music video showcases the band on tour, playing big and small stages but never to an unenthusiastic crowd. It has a laid back vibe that fits the band perfectly but doesn’t sell their talent short.
Fontaines D.C. are currently gearing up to tour Australia and will finish up in the UK by the end of February.
