Sweden’s independent artist Bobby Dancer paints a picture of an unfortunate love story in his atmospheric pop ballad, Movie Scene.

Inspired by the dramatics of a classic romantic movie, Bobby Dancer offers up a tender piece of dark pop music with his new song, Movie Scene. A heart-rending slow-burner, Movie Scene was written, composed and produced by Bobby Dancer himself and follows up on his debut single Granny Smith.

With a poetic quality and an alt edge to the sound, Movie Scene tells a story of love and heartbreak, bathed in a swooning melancholia and bittersweetness of fading memories. Built up on top of an iPhone recorded electric organ, it’s a synth-heavy track that sets a brooding tone with its trap-inspired beats and autotuned choir-like parts. The song arrives accompanied by a vintage-styled video, adding to the charm of the fleeting moments portrayed in the lyrics of the track.

Speaking on the new release, Bobby Dancer shares:

I wrote ‘Movie Scene’ on one of many sleepless nights processing a break up, and that surreal setting made it feel like that cliché where you imagine you’re in a movie, so it very literally became a ‘Movie Scene’. At the time it felt cheesy which was therapeutic in itself but the song turned into something meaningful and pretty in the end.
