MARCELO DE LA VEGA Shares New Video for ‘Conversation’

The leading and title track to be lifted off Marcelo De La Vega’s debut EP, Conversation opens up a private side to the musician.

Marcelo de la Vega

Argentinian-Australian musician Marcelo De La Vega brings an assured confidence into his debut EP and titular single Conversation, as he lays bare his insecurities and thoughts to offer a heartfelt track for listeners to relate to. With soulful vocals and bluesy piano, a stirring texture is created to set the sultry tone.

Explaining the inspiration behind the track, Marcelo confesses:

The song stemmed from a period where I was really struggling to communicate with people. I felt myself get swept up in a new environment when I first moved to London, I struggled to convey my actual feelings as I didn’t want to come across as weak to my family and friends, which in retrospect is so trivial. I felt really confused, I was coming to the end of my relationship and I forgot who I was without the relationship, and felt quite lost.

An accompanying video shares similarly poignant sentiments as it follows the narrative of a hopeless clown named Vinnie Vegas. Marcelo expounds:

Vinnie is not a good clown, he’s not really good at anything. The one thing that keeps him going every morning and every night, keeps him going out there to try, is his dog, who is also his star attraction. The dog gets stolen by another clown and the whole clip is like Finding Nemo, me finding my dog, and realising how lost I am without my dog.
