POLUN Collaborates With GRACIE ELLA for ‘Higher Ground’

Inviting you to a lush world of synths and soaring vocals, Higher Ground is the charming new single from POLUN and Gracie Ella.

POLUN

Toronto-based musician POLUN (寶麟) had an upbringing rooted in classical piano, with personal influences coming from west-coast hip-hop. Having started collaborating with other musicians from 2014, he’s built up a wealth of experience and seen many different sides to the creative industries, bouncing between electronic artists and K-Pop stars. This myriad of sources has lent itself to the diverse and compelling sound that he now brings to us in his debut single Higher Ground, as he fuses sparkling pop sensibilities with more sensuous R&B melodies to bring something that effortlessly oozes with charm.

Drawing you in with summery beats and luminescent electronics, you’ll feel all of your worries get washed away by the soothing textures and consoling vocals. Collaborating with Gracie Ella, her smooth vocals add a velvet texture to the track that makes listening to it even easier, as the sounds trickle through your mind without resistance. The strong bass grounding will make you want to dance along, while the sultriness adds even more persuasion (as if you needed any) to just immerse yourself within the music.

Speaking about the track, POLUN explains:

‘Higher Ground’ combines all the things I love about dance, pop and R&B music. I knew I wanted a playful yet sexy vocal to complement the slower tempo of the groove. As soon as I heard Gracie’s voice on the track, it just felt right. Her sultry and soulful voice was the perfect finishing touch on this bop!
