BELOT Teases With New Single ‘Harmless Fun’
Playing around with you and calling it a bit of Harmless Fun, Belot will win you over with her latest release.
Describing her sound as ‘awkward pop’, Belot has ditched the first half of the description in her latest release as she oozes cheekiness and charisma in Harmless Fun. Bringing together teasing electronics and a light texture, she creates a playful sound that will make you want to let your hair down and have a dance along, completely stress-free and just living in the moment. Her slightly raspy vocals add a personal teasing that gives the track its character, and you’ll be hard-pressed not to feel completely charmed by the end of it.
Speaking more about the track, Belot shares:
‘Harmless Fun’ came about during the first lockdown in the UK. I found myself binge watching Modern Family, and it led me to this idea. The concept was essentially: What if the Dad character Phil Dunphy turned up to a conference thinking it was going to be a very legitimate and educational work conference and then all of a sudden he sees a whole bunch of businessmen absolutely hammered. He swiftly realises this is an adult version of spring break. The song is about giving in to the lighter side of life, and not being afraid to let your hair down. After all that’s what life is about, having fun!
