Aussie duo PLGRMS release a gorgeous animated video to go with their single Dream You Up.

Consisting of singer-songwriter Jacob Pearson and multi-instrumentalist and producer Jonathan Bowden, the duo have some truly interesting elements in their repertoire. Whilst the vocal track possesses the telling nature of a singer-songwriter, the production and the melody witness of a greater craft being in place. The soundscape is exhilarating, the electronic music posing a weird sensation of honesty and boldness whilst flowing on creative innovation.

The animated video is a psychedelic tale, drawing in the dream narrative of the tune. Fulled by the pulsing beats, the narrating lady seems to flow through some kind of dream wonderland. The band comments that:

We’ve always been really keen to do an animated video. ‘Dream You Up’ seemed the perfect song to do it. Working with Stephen Smith (of Wobblylobster in the UK) has been great. He has really captured the mood of the song visually, taking the viewer on an abstract journey where make-believe is reality.

The lyrics, though not so prevalent in the bigger picture of the tune, are explained by the duo as:

When there’s mystery behind something or someone, it’s so interesting and intriguing. By nature we just can’t help ourselves and want to find out what it is. It’s the anticipation and the thrill of what we don’t understand. I’ve gone through it, but when you unveil the truth, the magic just disappears. So, it’s about stopping yourself from understanding it completely, so that thrill can hang around a bit longer.
