THE ORIELLES Share New Track ‘Let Your Dogtooth Grow’

The Orielles return with new track titled Let Your Dogtooth Grow, and it is catchy as hell.

Made up of sisters Sidonie B, Esmé Dee Hand Halford and their best friend Henry Carlyle Wade, in still their youthful perspective on what feels nostalgic simultaneously, The Orielles unveil brand new cut Let Your Dogtooth Grow.

The trio has been busy over the summer hitting up many festivals including Green Man, Sea Change and Truck just to name a few, and the fruit of their labour has brought us this manic track that will have you wanting those summer days back. Layered vocals with a fusion of genres seem to miraculously come together to create four minutes of charm.

The band explains:

‘Let Your Dogtooth Grow’ was once again recorded and produced by the legend that is Marta ‘bueno’ Salogni. It features our first (but certainly not last) outing with the Mini Moog, which oscillates freely throughout the closing minute of the track. Furthermore, the outro to the song becomes a melting-pot of our influences, combining guitar riffs reminiscent of Turkish psychedelic musician, Mustafa Ozkent with the Moog Synth riff which is redolent of Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’.

Taking influence from Lanthimos’ abstruse, fictitious world where kids are brainwashed into thinking that they are confined within the boundaries of their household until their ‘Dogtooth’ falls out, the lyrics discuss how in reality, people our age face similar (albeit less bizarre) forms of oppression.

Whilst we’re much more than a stones throw away from knocking our teeth out in order to break from the omnipresent restrictions us teenagers and young adults face, it’s still something that really bugs us as a ‘young band’! When are you gonna let us out of the house?
