BOSTON MANOR Reveal Visuals for ‘Bad Machine’

Blackpool outfit Boston Manor push their creative boundaries, both visually and musically, in their new video for Bad Machine.

Dark and hauntingly beautiful, Bad Machine is the second cut lifted from the band’s sophomore record, Welcome To The Neighbourhood, out on September 7th.

Following their previous single Halo, the new track sees Boston Manor rise to new heights demonstrating their musical diversity. With an exceptional precision, they harmonise expressive lyricism with an intriguing dynamic structure of the song, allowing it to grow into an expansive soundscape.

As they add a film-noir treatment on the clip, the narrative style sets quite an intense tone. Displaying enigmatic imagery, the visuals quickly turn into a dark tale that depicts the band’s perspective on their hometown. Filmed over the course of three night shoots in Blackpool this summer, the video was directed and edited by the band’s very own Henry Cox, with Tom Hancox in the role of DOP.

Henry explains:

When we composed the song we already had accompanying visuals in mind for it and when recording the album we had films playing in the background that we thought would match up with the sounds we were making. We knew we wanted to capture some of the sleaziness of the track & condense the video down to a sequence of ‘moments’, almost like a movie trailer. The song has such massive differences in dynamics between the verses & choruses so it was important that we captured that in the video.

Welcome To The Neighbourhood is due out on September 7th via Pure Noise Records.
