AIRLINERS Cheerfully Mask Their Sorrow in New Single ‘Copenhagen’
Competing moods open Copenhagen up to a full-range of playlist possibilities.

Upbeat, cheery guitars and a punchy beat distract from the heartbreaking lyrics of Airliners’ first new release in four years. Distracted by the positive pop sound, Copenhagen appears to be a love letter to the Danish city. However, it’s quick to expose itself as a longing letter for lost love with lyrics like “Copenhagen, do you miss me? / If only I could look inside of your mind.” The charming vocals capture both sides of the coin while uniting them under one roof. No matter if you’re missing a certain someone or need something to strut to, Copenhagen has your playlist needs covered.
On their song, Airliners elaborated:
Our new song is inspired by a long-distance relationship and the city that fueled my emotions.
We want people to hear the beauty of love and of Copenhagen itself reflected in the music, and then to contrast that with the melancholic nature of the lyrics. The entire track is a ying-yang of happiness, pain, longing, love, and acceptance.
The magic of hopping on a plane and heading across the world to see someone you love conflicts with the pain of sending someone you love on a plane across the world, never knowing if you’ll ever see them again.
