Coming from her debut EP, Hallway is one of three offerings Dazey is sharing with the world. You cannot deny her amazing tone that she unleashes on this track, making this song truly sublime. It’s as if she allures us into from the very beginning of the track with the layered and echoing vocals. And then faint trumpets and drum beats build into a stunning moment in its own right. Dazey says her influences range from Björk to Sylvan Esso, and Bonobo to the Powerpuff Girls which you can hear throughout.

Speaking on the new single, Dazey shares:

Sometimes there is no escaping the negative voices in your head, but they will pass, and come back, and pass again. ‘Hallway’ is about fluidity of emotions and building a home within yourself (with sick checkered floors) to support you through the uncertainties of life. I wrote it as an exercise to get out of writing sad songs, but as time went on, the meaning of the song served as a template of how to navigate difficult experiences.
