SUGARTHIEF New Song Review // “Joy Affair”
SUGARTHIEF unveil new track Joy Affair.
Birmingham’s indie four-piece strikes again with a new cut, Joy Affair, which follows their previous track Crowing Youth and their debut single New Ends released earlier this year.
Of course, the age does not necessarily define maturity. These young lads have proven exactly that as they’ve shared another masterfully shaped track.
Produced by Gazz Rogers at Crown Works Studios, the song will fit easily into the compilation of your summery tunes. Perhaps, nostalgic and raw at times but full of infectious hooks Joy Affair delivers grand upbeat vibes. By the time they serve the last chorus you will undoubtedly find yourself singing along to the backing vocals with a slight sway of your hips.
The band explain:
“Joy Affair” emphasises different outlooks and finding some optimism in the pessimism. It’s about embracing bad times instead of avoiding them.
Let’s all do that then. Embrace our bad times and play the song below.
With a great support from BBC WM Introducing and a few festival dates in their schedule this season, Sugarthief have certainly hit the road that only goes up. Hopefully, we’ll meet on the way a couple of times more before they reach the top.
