SYSTEM OF A DOWN Release ‘Protect The Land’ & ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’

Reuniting in the name of their homelands, SOAD reveal the hardship of their people in the thought-provoking and aid-requesting Protect The Land and Genocidal Humanoidz.

System Of A Down 2020

15 years have passed since System Of A Down have released their last album and while fans have been eagerly hoping for a grandiose return, no one could have guessed what the catalyst would be for their new music. Exposing political and humanitarian issues ravaging their homelands Artsakh and Armenia, as well as highlighting the dedication and unity among their fellow nationals, Protect The Land and Genocidal Humanoidz arrive in a time of need for these two countries and urge immediate action.

SOAD explain in the statement released together with the songs:

For over the past month, civilians young and old have been awakened day and night by the frightful sights and sounds of rocket attacks, falling bombs, missiles, drones and terrorist attacks. […] There is an immediate need for global citizens to urge their respective governments to not only condemn the actions of these crooked dictators, but to also insist world leaders to act with urgency to bring peace to the region and rightfully recognize Artsakh as the independent nation it is.

Powered by anthemic vocals, thought-provoking lyrics and soul-touching instrumental, Protect The Land celebrates, recognizes and mourns the efforts of the armed forces of Armenia and Artsakh, while the aggressive, gunning Genocidal Humanoidz further stresses the trupes’ dedication to fight against the oppressors while harshly condemning their evil actions and intentions.

Frontman Serj Tankian comments:

The aggression and injustice being perpetrated against the Armenian people in Artsakh and Armenia by Azerbaijan and Turkey is a human rights violation and a war crime. […] All of us in System realise this is an existential battle for our people, so this is very personal for us. What we need right now is for the world to put politics aside and support Armenia by sanctioning Turkey and Azerbaijan and recognizing Artsakh.
