Taken from their sophomore EP, Reality Checkpoint, Stupid Love is an exploration of the end of a relationship and the feelings that accompany the process of moving on. Cathartic and hard-hitting, the track soars high with a bone-crunching chorus and powerful, longing vocals that effortlessly convey the adrenaline-charged rush of emotions. Making a statement with their new EP, exploring mental health struggles and social issues, Standing Like Statutes continue to make waves with their explosive and colossal sound.

Speaking on the new release, the band explains:

This track was inspired by the end of a near decade-long relationship. It was the last track written out of the four on our EP. The lyrics look at how things broke down and how hard it can feel to move on to the next chapter in life. It was a song that helped process moving on past a painful experience.

The whole EP is focused on mental health and social issues. It’s what drives us as a band to write, not just from our own experiences, but also from what is happening around us in the world, in our city, in our street. The one thing we also aim for is to inject colour into our music; closing your eyes when listening and seeing the colours of music is something magical and that is what we try to weave into every track we write.
