VENUS DEMILO Release ‘Live At Parr Street Studios’
Ending off 2020 in a socially-distanced method that many of us have gotten accustomed to, Venus Demilo close with a live performance at Parr Street Studios.

2020 has been a huge blow to the touring and live music industry, with lockdowns preventing the same sweaty, intimate gigs that we knew and loved from happening. But this hasn’t stopped musicians from trying to find creative ways to still connect and perform to their fans, with livestreams becoming ever more popular this year. It therefore feels fitting that British alt-poppers Venus Demilo have chosen to round off their year with a live performance from Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios. Delivering an impassioned and seamless performance, it’s a step-up from studio recordings by injecting more raw emotion whilst maintaining the same technical proficiency.
The band decided to record at Parr Street Studios one last time before its expected closure next year, given the integral part that it has played in their journey so far. The studio has been where the band has recorded their entire catalogue up to date, and was the home to vocalist Tom’s studio when he worked in producing. Tom further elaborates on the importance of the studio, explaining:
Parr Street has an almost mythical reputation in Liverpool. When we first recorded there we were bombarded with mates asking us all about it. It was like we’d been to the White House. At first you’re blown away by the place itself; it’s a musician’s heaven. After spending a bit of time there though you realise it’s the quality of the pros working there that is where the magic really stems from.
