Sweden’s Hanna Mel explores the thrill of infatuation in her dark-pop new offering Shy Or Something.

In anticipation of her new EP, set for release later this year, 23-year-old producer and songwriter Hanna Mel has treated us to a fresh dose of her own pop brew with Shy Or Something. With a spark of true emotion, Hanna tackles the feelings of uncertainty and doubt, weaving an achingly relatable tale of love, introversion and shyness. In Shy Or Something, her soft vocals rest on a bed of dark-pop leaning production, tinged with a touch of melancholy sweetness. A dark yet oddly comforting story, the song is sure to strike a chord within you.

Speaking on the new single, Hanna shares:

You know the feeling when that *spark* might just be something you dreamt up in your head? ‘Shy or Something’ is about two introverts having a crush on one another. Each too shy to admit it, and the frustration that it brings. I am a very introverted person myself, who easily gets quiet around large groups of new people. With this song, I wanted to play with the difference between being introverted or shy. Even though people might perceive them as the same thing – they feel totally different from within.
