Sharing the urge to pack her bags and go to Fiji is Ellie Gadzos, as she puts into words what we’re all feeling, with her debut single.

The stage has always been Ellie Gadzos’ safe space, and she’s been creating for as long as she can remember. Finally spreading her wings and putting her sound out there, Gadzos has just released her debut single Fiji.

Written about wanting to “take a plane to a better place,” this alt-pop track embodies the feeling we all get sometimes, of wanting to up and leave everything behind. Layered beats and Gadzos’ mellow vocals combine to create a warm, relatable track, filled with both vulnerability and confidence. A lovely little debut, it puts Ellie Gadzos in good stead for whatever she’s got coming.

On the release, Gadzos shares:

I think everyone has wanted to run far away and restart at some point. When I wrote this song, I wished I could leave Ottawa behind and start fresh on a faraway island. At the time, rumours kept me apart from the person I had feelings for, and it made me think that if we could disappear and getaway, it would solve all of our problems.
