Comprising of Jared Brannan and Brandon Bews, Meet Me in Orbit are a synth-pop duo originating from the Bay Area in California, USA. Roommates Brannan and Bews established themselves as a group in 2014 when they began releasing self-produced music on SoundCloud.

Slip Away is Meet Me in Orbit’s first release of 2021, and the track is a modern 80s-inspired dance number which unconventionally features very complex lyricism. Produced by Emmy-nominated duo The Canvas Group, this track emotionally and physically captivates listeners by embedding emotive lyrics into upbeat electronic sonics.

With ‘Slip Away,’ we wanted to explore the claustrophobia of desperately yearning for something, but having no clear sense of what that thing is. It’s a song about the ways we tend to craft our inner-dialogue around autobiographies that are themselves constructed of little lies and self-deceptions. In the end, that’s what nostalgia itself is – the overwhelming desire to go back to a time and place that never really existed in the form we’re yearning for.

Penning an entire new EP and working tirelessly to enhance their sound, Meet Me in Orbit completely dedicated quarantine to their artistry. Therefore, Slip Away is the first release of an abundance of forthcoming new music from the duo. Stay tuned!
