TARBOX Release New Single ‘White Lie’

Hitting the ground running with their debut, Canadian quartet Tarbox are back with the grunge-y White Lie.

It’s occurring more and more regularly that bands are forming as a result of solo artists coming together and deciding they could create some magic, and that’s exactly what happened with Tony, Simon, Deiz, and Jack. The four formed Tarbox earlier this year, and have thrown two singles out in the last two months; the newest being White Lie.

Displaying themselves as an alternative, post-grunge band, Tarbox’s inspiration from the likes of Nirvana and Stereophonics is evident in this new single. The melodies build as the vocals do: starting soft and under a steady beat, and leading into a raucous, energetic chorus. A gorgeous guitar solo takes the stage in the middle of the song, and there’s a gentle, almost sinister, ending. The accompanying music video sees a burial, giving what seems like an upbeat-enough track a more melancholy meaning. White Lie stands Tarbox in a great light; we just have to wait and see what else they’ve got up their sleeves.
