JENNY KERN Releases Cathartic Single ‘Alone’

Vulnerable lyricism and stunningly exposed vocals combine to create an emotive single which powerfully saddens and comforts the listener at the same time.

Jenny Kern 2021

Canadian-born but now Brooklyn-based, Jenny Kern is an indie-pop singer-songwriter who has gained global attention due to her emotionally-charged lyricism and hypnotic vocals. In particular, her magnetic single Slow Burn, which was released in 2019, skyrocketed her to performing her first international tour in Europe and enabled her to be featured on MTV, ABC and the CW. Following this success, Jenny recorded two further singles Satellite and Now We Know, which were produced by Andy Seltzer. Fast forward to 2021 and Jenny released yet another collaborative single with Andy Seltzer, entitled Coming Back For Me, earlier this year.

Throughout this year, Jenny released the alluring singles Coming Back For Me, Run and Where Did The Time Go before she unveiled her latest EP, I Never Thought That You Were Listening, which features these singles as well as the stunning new track Alone.

With gentle piano keys and heavenly strings, Jenny’s effortlessly soothing vocals compel you to take in every individual lyric that she passionately delivers in this therapeutic single.

Jenny shares:

It’s a song I wrote when I was in the deepest spiral of being alone. I felt like no one was there, no one was listening. With everything going on in the world over the last two years, “Alone” feels like a ritual. It came from a place of hopelessness and it’s probably one of the most honest songs I’ve written. It’s about self-discovery and searching for meaning in a dark and lonely time.

Authentically epitomising the emptiness and loneliness which many of us have overwhelmingly felt during lockdown, Jenny bares her soul for all to hear in her new single – no wonder she has captured hearts internationally.
