WATERPARKS release new track Hawaii (Stay Awake).

Having been premiered on Pete Wentz’s Hits & Misses show, Hawaii (Stay Awake) is the opening track of the trio’s upcoming debut album, Double Dare, which will be out later this year.

New offering follows their first single, Stupid For You, and it simply serves what Waterparks do best, which is the blend of anthemic and arena-size pop-punk hooks with electronic twist. The ones that undoubtedly will make you Stay Awake.

The lead singer Awsten Knight says of the track:

What’s special about “Hawaii (Stay Awake)” is that it was the only song that was made before our last EP, “Cluster“, was even done. It was this close to being track two on “Cluster“, instead of “Territory“. We loved both songs, so it was a tough choice, but we thought that the electronic, vocal-cut, pop-rock vibe was already covered well enough through songs like “Crave” and “Pink“, so we chose “Territory” strictly because it had a different feel than anything else from that release.

We told ourselves we’d save this song for the album but then kind of forgot about it, as we had written about 40 plus more new songs after that time. Once we started sharing our new demos with close friends, they all freaked over “Hawaii” and by that point we hadn’t thought about that one for a while, so we got to re-fall in love with it and decided it was the perfect opening track for our first album.

Double Dare is due for release on November 4th via Equal Vision Records.
