BLAENAVON have unveiled new song You Pretty Little Thing, a B-side to their long awaited single My Bark Is Your Bite.

The Hempshire lot has excelled since their first appearance on the British music scene, and has now released yet another track from their still anticipated debut.

The melodic and catchy guitar kicking off My Bark Is Your Bite is something we’ve come to love with Blaenavon over these few years. When it tangles up with Ben Gregory’s fluid vocal, twisting into repetitive wonders, it is clear that this is the band’s fort.

The acoustic number You Pretty Little Thing is a dazzle of innocent guitars and vocals, not majorly inventive, but effective in all its simplicity. Just like an acoustic usually is.

It’s not outstanding musically, but the interesting story told through the lyrics carries the tune into something more than just another acoustic, slightly cheesy, B-side. Unlike the stronger My Bark Is Your Bite, new offering You Pretty Little Thing does not sound as much as a band effort. It is definitely a track more centred around Gregory in that sense.

Whatever that is supposed to mean it looks like their debut full-length might be finally coming in a foreseeable future.

You can argue that Blaneavon offer good guitar music, true, but it doesn’t quite cover it. There is a certain ambiguity around it and you can’t quite pin it down.
