THE SUNDOWNERS release sonic new single, Great Beauty.

The Liverpool outfit are fresh back from supporting The Coral on their Christmas UK tour, but ain’t no rest for the wicked. Following up their debut album, we are served the first teaser of their sophomore in the form of Great Beauty.

The tune’s dual vocals and fluid guitars with choral backing and doses of swirling organs set a fairy tale-like atmosphere. The drifting tones and ambiguous arrangement can at times seem like a movie cliché with some 70s vibes. Judging by the teaser it will be interesting to see what more is up The Sundowners’ sleeve for their second album.

The band headed back to the scene of their debut as they recorded the forthcoming effort in Liverpool’s Parr Street Studio, accompanied by producer Rich Turvey with the guiding hand of The Coral’s James Skelly (producers of the #1 album by Blossoms).
