SKATERS Turn ‘Criminal’ for New Video

New York’s own garage punkers, Skaters, unveil new single Criminal of their sophomore album Rock And Roll Bye Bye.

The tune circles around the allured of being on the edge, and how wrong can sometimes feel so right. With a criminally good bass-line, some funky beats and an untraditional completion all coming together, Criminal is an anthem for the free and the freaks of music in its own sense. As the song barely stretches to three minutes, it is a timely capturing of a moment.

The animated video accompanying the release is illustrated by Cameron J L West and clashes together almost as many diverse references as the song. Featuring the Acid House smiley alongside traditional rock associations and pop culture references, the yellow, black and white animation is a mashup of all that Skaters are or strive to be.

Lead guitarist Josh Hubbard comments:

All good things come to an end…and some bad things. You always write a song when you come out of a relationship. Our new gf is way poorer than our ex. This video is another online relationship forged. The outcome…Sick Luton-based artist, Cameron West, kills the visual accompaniment for our new tune Criminal. God bless the internet and God bless America.

Rock And Roll Bye Bye is out now at Skaters own, Yonks Records. Watch the clip below.
