LIVE // PUBLIC ACCESS T.V. at The Lexington, London
New York favourites Public Access T.V. made their stellar return to London city.

Last Thursday night was filled with rampant moshing, sweaty faces and pure excitement from the crowd who were clearly pleased to see the return of the boys from across the pond.
The last time we saw PATV was at their packed-out homecoming at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, a rather grand, prestigious venue which comfortably squeezes about 300 extra gig goers in compared with The Lexington. For a band who are used to wowing much larger crowds in their hometown and over America (they’ve just finished a huge US tour supporting alternative rock legends, Pixies) they looked more than comfortable to be performing on a smaller stage.
Playing a very similar set to last time with a couple of new songs thrown in, Public Access T.V. were faultless in their endeavour to win over a UK crowd once again. Every word was sung back to them, from the very first riff of On Location to the last chord in Sell You On A Lie – they had the English crowd in the palm of their hands.
In usual UK crowd form, a mosh pit quickly transpired which continued throughout the night, the band only encouraged further. For a foreign act to ignite such a high level of energy from their audience, even during slower numbers such as Careful, it was quite spectacular. Despite having played to UK crowds many times in the past, the band still look surprised and humbled by the reaction (especially when a bra was thrust onto the stage).
The set ended with a huge roar, and was followed with chants of ‘one more song!’. Public Access T.V. may already be back in the States, but there is no doubt that they’ll return, and to even bigger crowds as their popularity continues to soar.
