Dutch-German duo The Day bring their cinematic sound to the live setting for Paper Planes Session.

Comprising of Laura Loeters and Gregor Sonnenberg, The Day craft music that soothes the soul. Self-labeled “a hybrid of Dream-Pop and Post-Punk”, the duo offers a lo-fi-tinged concoction of pop delicacy and rock sharpness.

Taken from their 2019 debut album, Midnight Parade, Island is a stunning cut of dream-pop. Pairing carefully-paced instrumentals with ethereal vocals, the track flourishes with swelling melodies and hazy textures that envelop around you softly. With a touch of melancholy sweetness to their sound, the live version of the track adds ever more poise and elegance to the song arrangement.
