Simple Plan and the star-studded Boom
The other day I was talking to a friend of mine about some long forgotten bands and we mentioned this particular one. It’s been a while. Although not like one-year-between-the-records while. But also not like The Libertines only eleven-years-break while. Well, half a decade is definitely a while.
Guys! Simple Plan are returning with the 5th record! Fifth! Where did the time go? Why so quickly?
I was such a big fan of this Canadian quintet. Then my music preferences slightly shifted, nothing you’d not be aware of by now.. Anyway, they just unveiled the music video for the new track Boom and it is awesome. I feel like I’m 17 again (yep, I am that old). I actually remember saying that they were my favourite. I remember knowing every song, every lyrics. I remember singing along and screaming at their shows. Believe it or not, once I was very, very punk. It didn’t really show but I was. In my heart. There’s still some of it left.
This is why I enjoy my little time travels, you know. They remind me of who I was and how things have (or have not) changed. Either way it is very comforting to accidentally run across the memories you thought you forgot. Because after all, you never do.
But there’s more. These Montreal dudes teamed up with some fellow punk friends and as the result we get to catch a glimpse of All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, Black Veil Brides, PVRIS and many more appearances. Quite enjoyable footage I must say. Check it yourself!
As it turned out they still make my little crazy heart go boom!
Boom is the first single taken from the upcoming but yet to be titled fifth album.
