The Boys Are Back In Town which means only one thing – BUSTED return!
The world has gone mad! A lot sooner than I expected. We didn’t have to wait till the year 3000 after all.
The proof that miracles happen in life. You just have to believe it very, very much. For a couple of years at least.. or only thirteen in my case, to be precise. I’ve waited thirteen years, thirteen (!) which is literally a half of my life, for this to happen. Honestly, I never thought I’d actually live to this moment. To see this next band performing live.
You never forget your first love, do you?
Of course you don’t. Busted were my first band crush. Big time. I remember when I was breaking out of the pop world run by Britney Spears and Co. and I encountered these three British lads. I quite liked them. I listened to some songs, I slept with my light on, I crashed a weeding or two but I’ve never got to see them live – basically because of the geographical reasons. Too far, too young. Apparently, nothing’s changed since then. Besides the latter. Not that young any more but Hey! I’m in London now.
All was great until they broke my heart a few years later when they announced their split in 2005. Even bigger big time. You can’t just break a girl’s heart like that. It felt like the shattered world would never be the same again.
But here we are now, a decade has passed, and I can’t describe how glad I am that I was wrong.
Yesterday Busted held the press conference in London announcing their big comeback. The reunited trio – James Bourne, Matt Willis and (surprise, surprise) Charlie Simpson – confirmed that they’ve been working on some new material, not to mention the huge arena tour happening next May! Obviously, I’m going. But what’s more important, it turns out that this whole conspiracy has been going on for a couple of years now! Well done with keeping secrets guys [watch the statement video from the band below].
Time flies by. People grow up. Things change. You evolve. And transform. I might’ve not agreed with every decision the band made after 2005 but I’ve supported each and everyone of them all this time. I still think that Fightstar was the best thing that happened to me when I was experimenting with my music taste and I was switching to the heavier sounds. And oh how I love Charlie’s solo albums! I’m also quite fine with that McBusted thing but I reckon it should stop now.
I remember when Charlie “Never, ever, ever, ever again, not in a million years” Simpson gave this statement in 2011:
I want to make it unequivocally clear that I have no interest whatsoever in rejoining Busted and I never will.
But then this happened..
Life is a crazy thing. Sometimes we know how it's going to turn out and sometimes we don't. Sometimes the unexpected happens…

The news has been spreading so quickly! First appeared on the Hunger Magazine where the band explained all the reasons behind bringing Busted back to life, how they got back in touch and how they’re still good friends.
Basically it’s kind of a crazy journey we’ve been on as a band and, to be honest, I don’t think any of us thought that we’d be sat here today talking about doing this – Charlie said.
You get to a point in your life where you can look at things and like say ‘who cares about the past?’ – Matt added. There’s no need to rectify anything. It’s done.
We had all the time in the world for this to naturally happen – James reassured. We’ve come full circle back to this band.
