THE GARDEN Live at Scala
Californian garage punk duo storms London.

The Garden graced the stage at Scala last week giving nothing short of an unforgettable performance to a sold out audience.
The identical twin brothers, Wyatt and Fletcher Shears have a distinct, hypnotic soundscape with no two songs sounding the same. Describing their music as their very own home-grown ‘vada vada’, they can break as many rules as they wish and are not pigeonholed to stay inside one particular genre. With influences being a mixture of drum and bass, hip hop, rock and punk, along with gothic basslines and vocals sounding very similar to The Horrors at times.
Their look is as out there as their sound. Fletcher dressed up with his face painted white, wearing a black wig and long leather jacket, spending the first half of the gig jumping from one speaker to another like Spider-Man, whilst Wyatt kept to a bit more of a traditional punk rock look wearing yellow flares and black leather jacket. Both giving sinister glances to audience members whilst singing.
The Garden released new EP titled U Want The Scoop? earlier this month so the show was a perfect opportunity to present latest material to UK crowd. The duo bounced off each other through the whole gig, taking it in turns on vocals, guitars and drums in each song and making the whole thing look effortless and unrehearsed.
Pushing boundaries and giving London a taste of the modern Californian punk scene, we were there to capture an exceptional evening of music.
