FUTURE JR. Reveals Visuals for Debut Single ‘Suburbia Blue’

Australia’s Future Jr., the fledgling musical project of Matt Nainby, has released a coming-of-age music video to accompany his debut single Suburbia Blue.

The visuals explore the confines of suburban life and were filmed in Nainby’s hometown of Brisbane. The dark shots paired with powerful synth-filled lyrics send a succinct message: Future Jr. is ready to break out of his beginnings.

The four-part choreography adds the right amount of complexity without distracting from Future Jr.’s chorus. Lyrics like “Small towns never held me / I’m more than sidewalk routine” hint at Nainby’s motivation behind the song:

It’s all about feeling out of place, figuring out who you really are, and learning to deal with the dreams that feel bigger than you.

Suburbia Blue is the first tune to be released from forthcoming debut EP Vacancy, and is out now worldwide via Kobalt.
