SWMRS Unveil New Single ‘Trashbag Baby’
The Oakland surf punkers are due to release their second album, Berkeley’s On Fire, on February 15th through Fueled By Ramen.
SWMRS have been going strong for a few years now, releasing their album Drive North in 2016 through their own label Uncool Records before signing with Fueled By Ramen and touring extensively through the US and Europe. Their album has been a big success and the East Bay band has supported artists like All Time Low and Green Day at various shows.
It comes as no surprise that the band has built a solid fanbase and their sophomore album is a much anticipated one. After releasing singles Berkeley’s On Fire and April In Houston in 2018, both with a fresh new sound, Trashbag Baby sounds closer to Drive North-era SWMRS. The song reminds us of Harry Dean or Silver Bullet in the best way possible, and it seems like Berkeley’s On Fire will be a perfect mix between new sounds and familiar grooves.
Luckily the wait won’t be long and the guys are hitting the UK and Europe in February and March of this year to support their new release, ending at the Electric Ballroom in London on March 16th.
