Live: EAGLES OF DEATH METAL // Electric Ballroom, London

Before taking to the stage at Download Festival, Eagles Of Death Metal played a sold out show at London’s Electric Ballroom.

Eagles Of Death Metal played a packed out venue to some of the most loyal fans around. The hours waiting outside, the pouring rain and a couple of airborne pints did nothing to dampen the mood for this crowd.

Frontman Jesse Hughes took to the stage sporting a long cape, baseball cap and the legendary aviator shades before ripping into the first song of the night, I Only Want You. Appropriate, as it is also the first track of their debut album Peace Love Death Metal. They “made a bang” with Don’t Speak (I Came To Make A Bang!), quickly followed by Anything ‘Cept the Truth.

The atmosphere was amazing and there was never a dull moment with Hughes’ charismatic performance paired with the band’s constant energy. After a set filled with both original tunes and legendary covers such as Bowie’s Moonage Dydream, and Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead Or Alive, it was time for one final song. The evening concluded to the sound of Speaking In Tongues with extra guitar and bass solos that were sure to end the night on a high.
