Live: INHALER // O2 Forum Kentish Town, London

Irish four-piece Inhaler breathe new life into indie rock at the sold-out O2 Forum in Kentish Town.

With a debut album charting at number 1 in the UK and Ireland, it’s no surprise that the Dublin natives were selling out shows both in the UK and across the Atlantic. The stirring chorus of opener and title track It Won’t Always Be Like This set the scene for what would be an unrelenting evening, followed by singles We Have To Move On and Falling In maintaining the momentum.

The slightly pop-tinged Ice Cream Sundae is set against the raging riffs of When It Breaks. Then with Who’s Your Money On? (Plastic House) we are given a glimpse of the more subdued side of the band with an effortless transition mid-song to an almost ballad.

Trailblazing, perhaps, by not doing the obvious thing of stepping off stage only to return for an encore, the crowd-pleasing combination of Cheer Up Baby and My Honest Face brought the set to a close. The words “Inhaler World Domination” sprawled across an Irish flag thrown on stage at the end said it all. And to answer the question, our money’s on Inhaler.
