MAKE FRIENDS Release Irresistible New Single ‘Fever’
As well as releasing their infectious new track Fever, Make Friends also unveil their highly-anticipated forthcoming EP Is This Real, which is due for release on November 26th.

Formed in Bath but now based in Bristol, Make Friends are a British indie band built on friendship and a collective love for modern indie-pop music. Following the release of their debut EP Hi in 2019, they gained support from BBC Radio 6 and Radio X, and even scored the opportunity to perform a BBC Introducing live session at the renowned Maida Vale Studios. Due to the pandemic and its consequential national lockdown, Make Friends were provided with an abundance of time and this time spurred on their creative flair. Not only is their latest single a sign that the indie rockers are back with a vengeance, but their upcoming EP embodies the refreshing atmosphere of a post-pandemic world. Determined to constantly evolve, Make Friends are also composing their debut album which is scheduled for release in 2022.
Throughout this year, the four-piece have released a collection of vibrant singles including Sleep Sound, Call Me Out and Safe To Say. Now, they return with their latest track Fever, which reflects upon life in a pandemic and, particularly, the torturous nature of multiple lockdowns and the damaging impact this has had on mental health. With riveting guitar riffs, contrastingly mellow vocals and an intense instrumental crescendo at the end, Fever is the musical epitome of the coexisting feelings of anxiety and depression, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
Speaking about the new song, Make Friends share:
We began writing ‘Fever’ around the time restrictions were beginning to lift after the first lockdown. The song is about the uncertainty of that period and the internal struggles of deciding whether it was okay to start going back to some form of normality. After being stuck inside for so long, the idea of being able to do the things you love again sounded appealing, but there was a stigma attached to it that made it feel wrong, despite what we were being told.
Pre-pandemic, Make Friends sold out Bristol’s Rough Trade and, in continuation of this performance success, the band have created an extraordinary live show which they will be showcasing on their headline tour across the UK in December.
