THE MAGIC GANG // LEEDS FESTIVAL 2017
On the second day of Leeds Festival, the NME stage continued to showcase the hottest indie acts of the year.
Of course, the list wouldn’t have been complete without The Magic Gang who have gotten insanely popular ever since signing with Felix White’s (The Maccabees) very own Yala Records.
By the time the Brighton quartet came out on stage, the tent above it was nearly full: hundreds of indie lovers from Yorkshire came to see them, and oh boy, did they bring the glitter!
Older hits such as Lady Please and Alright had the crowd singing louder than Jack Kaye (vocals) and Kristian Smith (vocals, guitar) combined, and newer releases like All This Way, Your Love, and How Can I Compete seemed to inspire a significant number of crowdsurfers.
The Magic Gang may have played for only half an hour but they made sure that their fans didn’t spend a single minute standing still. The boys’ headline gigs are always very energetic, but as it turns out, their festival sets are as well. We can’t wait to see what this band has in store for us in the future and we’ll certainly be there. You should, too. And don’t forget the glitter!
