SPACEY JANE Share Glorious Single ‘Lunchtime’
Spacey Jane’s new single Lunchtime is an infectiously joyous number despite its melancholic lyricism.

Consisting of frontman Caleb Harper, guitarist Ashton Hardman-LeCornu, bassist Peppa Lane and drummer/manager Kieran Lama, Spacey Jane are an Australian indie rock fourpiece. Described by Clash as “glorious” and “one of the country’s best new bands” by triple j, the influence they have in their native country is undeniable, and the foursome are gradually taking the world by storm with their delightful sound.
Following their critically-acclaimed, platinum-selling debut album Sunlight and their previous singles Booster Seat and Lots Of Nothing, Lunchtime is their third release of 2021 and what a satisfying soundscape it is. Mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Rich Costey, who is renowned for his work with The Killers and Phoebe Bridgers, Lunchtime is a blissful track due to its catchy chorus, passionate harmonies and vibrant sonics.
Frontman Caleb Harper explains:
I wrote this song while experiencing severe hangover anxiety and feeling extremely hopeless. It’s fun to juxtapose fast upbeat instrumentation with sombre lyrics and themes. I’m trying to explain how I feel like I’m just going through the motions with love, career, friends and family. I felt like everything was just happening because it had to and not because I cared about it.
As well as releasing their upbeat new single Lunchtime, Spacey Jane have also announced their debut UK/EU headline tour which will be going ahead next year. Tickets go on sale on Friday 15th October, at 10am so be ready!
