Swim Deep play with magic in the new music video for the song “Namaste”

Do you want to play a game? Of course you do. Let’s try “Don’t Like Yours Much” then. Looks fun!

Swim Deep. Perhaps my favourite discovery of this year. Huge I would even say. Despite their second record Mothers being released later this month, I happen to dig all their previous work. I can’t stop listening to the debut album Where the Heaven Are We right now. It’s delightful! The entire band is just made for me. If this is love then I’ll have it.

Anyway, the new music video for the track Namaste is quite a something. Weird, rather foolish but fantastic travel in time and space. Even magical in a lack of more suitable word. Because we are not alone on this dimensional journey. Joined by very significant personalities such as iconic Paul Daniels (the actual Paul Daniels! How did they manage to get him?!) and brilliant (as always!) one of my favourite people in the world – Spector’s very own Fred MacPherson (check what they’ve been up to recently!). There’s more. Why not make a family reunion after all. The guest list also includes Austin’s mum, Zach’s dad and close friend, Nell.

If you are very perceptive person you’ll notice that the Birmingham group held the parody till the very end. The show game was hosted by Micky Sharty, the microphone was provided by Terry Wogan (say what?!). Oh and I could use the contact details to their amazing specialist for the Visual Effects – No One. Well, it pays off to read the credits sometimes so don’t skip that part!

Ok when is my turn then? I want to play it now.

The sophomore album Mothers is out on 25th September.
