THE MAGIC GANG New EP Review // “The Second EP From”
The Second EP From THE MAGIC GANG is out, and yes, this is the title.

The self-confessed old school romantics of The Magic Gang have been on a roll this past year with buzzing live shows and their recent signing with none other than Warner Music. Now they are at it again, releasing their second EP, cleverly titled The Second EP From.
The Brighton bunch keeps to their style, full of crucial guitar-and-bass play and vocal harmonies in sunshine filled tunes that we’ll surely need as autumn sneaks up on us. It is great to see, however, that they have still evolved their style and musical expression. The new EP follows the band’s first EP (released in January 2016; and yes, that is also the title) and consists of four songs, including recent single All This Way, a sparkly sing-along friendly tune you have probably heard at their live gigs.
The EP opens with one of its most outstanding songs, Only Waiting. It is a much more in depth track than what we’ve heard from The Magic Gang so far.
The second EP From is a somewhat unpretentious and enthusiastic EP, sparking your fate in new music ever so slightly.
The following track, Tuning In, takes it down a notch, with a chill 60’s vibes filled with harmonies and, typical for the band, repetitive courses and relatable lyrics.
The Second EP From rounds up with melancholic heartbreak tune, Blue For You. Backed with subtle strings and the course going: “You can’t ignore my love, baby it’s true, I’m so blue for you”. It’s the perfect tune underlining The Magic Gang’s flair for hopeless romance and old school tuning.
As we are waiting for The Magic Gang’s highly anticipated debut album, hopefully set to be released in 2017, The Second EP From, is sure to keep us occupied for a while to come.
The Second EP From is out now via Telharmonium Records.
