THE JAPANESE HOUSE unveils new clip for the track Face Like Thunder.

The Japanese House, aka Amber Bain, has just released a music video (directed by Gareth Phillips) to go alongside her recent single Face Like Thunder and it certainly makes us miss the summer!

Face Like Thunder is a daze of a tune in all its complicated simplicity. Featuring Bain‘s gorgeous, otherworldly vocals, over a sea of melodic tunes and floating harmonies, the song is a spiderweb of floating layers.

The feelings that transcend in the lyrics make your heart ache ever so slightly while the visual aspect only makes it all more clear.

Through a segment of clips that almost feel like stills we see two people not communicating surrounded by deserted, beautiful landscape, abandoned buildings, and a lonesome highway. All this is meticulously wrapped in a shade of a late summer sunshine making us all nostalgic.

The cinematographic play with angles and shifts between landscape and portrait shots is working almost symbiotic with the tune.

There is something about the combination of sound and picture that makes you feel like you are walking in on something private, like you are alienated from the reality created there, yet there is also a room to display what ever personal associations that come along as Bain‘s soaring song hits you. This might sound very far out and mysterious, and maybe it is, yet it is also as easy as a lush and severe take on pop.

The dreamy tune, Face Like Thunder, is the lead single from The Japanese House‘s forthcoming third EP titled Swim Against The Tide to be released on November 11th via Dirty Hit.
