THE SHERLOCKS Reveal ‘Was It Really Worth It?’ Video
The band has embarked on their biggest headline UK & Ireland tour to date.
The Sheffield outfit’s most recent single, Was It Really Worth It? is a guitar-laid indie track, gaining momentum through interesting bridges and Kiaran Crook’s emotive vocals. The tune, much like the video to go with it, has more potential than what it proves.
The video features clips from a live setting, side by side with a hopeless romantic storyline, and stars Kiersten Wareing (Fishtank, Eastenders, The Take) and newcomer Connor McCarron (Neds).
Frontman Kiaran Crook explains:
We’re so excited to share our new music video with you all. It features a typical relationship from the outset, however there’s a quirky edge to it and a few twists. We think it’s incredible! These lyrics from the track sum up the whole video & new single – “When you’re fighting a battle that can’t be won”…
Director Aella Jordan-Edge also elaborates:
This video is about the lengths you’ll go to impress someone. The video opens at ‘The beginning of the end’ of a relationship, already fraught with tension because of a large age gap between the two lovers. We empathize with McCarron’s character as he becomes increasingly desperate to stay with his older girlfriend, played by Wareing. At the video climax McCarron breaks out into dance and performs a human peacocking ritual, ending with an ejaculation of a confetti gun. Wareing remains suitably unimpressed which leaves McCarron to ponder ‘Was it really worth it?’ like the title track.
Catch The Sherlocks at the following dates, there’s plenty.
