GLASS ANIMALS Serve ‘Pork Soda’ Video
And it’s another surreal adventure from the British four-piece.
The latest single, Pork Soda, is taken from Glass Animals‘ 2016 sophomore album, How To Be A Human Being.
Once more we are being invited to the unique and surreal world of Glass Animals. And once more, it gets a little bit unusual.
The visual accompaniment for the down-beat Pork Soda opens vaguely with a food tray sequence, and that’s not even the weird part. Some sassy dance moves including a dog – checked, the band members starring in TV commercials – checked, Sprayonnaise and a lot of fried Super Chicken – checked. The engaging narrative quickly captures our attention, intrigued we follow the events of the two juxtaposed characters whilst confidently swaying to the woozy track.
Frontman Dave Bayley explains:
As you may know, each song on this album is about a different character, and each character is visible on the album’s artwork. The lives of those characters are explored in more depth in the videos and accompanying websites. In this video we meet the song’s main character, Mr. Jennings, and get a glimpse into his world of television, slingshots, dancing dogs, SPAM, and American daytime infomercials. There are subtle references to the other album characters and their videos too….
There’s more on the band’s Facebook page:
What do a moonwalking dog, fried Chicken, a sling shot, Sprayonnaise™, and a Palmbrella all have in common? they are all in our new music video for Pork Soda.
P.S. There is also an accompanying bonus website where you can basically chill and watch quality TV… check it at www.porksoda.co.uk
