SUNDARA KARMA Release Stunning New Video for ‘Happy Family’

The band shares nostalgic new clip for Happy Family.

The Reading outfit has not been resting on their laurels since the release of their debut Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect. Just returning from sunny SXSW, Sundara Karma unveil a stunning retrospect video for Happy Family.

The video follows in the tune’s nostalgic traces. A child creating his own universe through his surroundings. It’s daydreaming through action, and we delve in to the childhood states of escapism. Dealing with frustration and boredom on the surface, the video also addresses the isolation that can occur in the solitude one might experience as a kid.

The director Storma Cairns told FADER that “The story was inspired by both the lyrics and experiences from when I was a kid.” Sundara Karma’s charismatic lead, Oscar Pollock also stated that: “I thought Stroma’s treatment was charming and sweet, it brought a tear to my eye. I only wish that my mum had such dresses when I was younger.”
